The Quebecor Fund has handed out almost $2 million across seven projects in the latest round of its Main Television Production Assistance Program (MPAP).
The recipients include the fifth season of reality series La Voix (TVA), from producer Productions Déferlantes, comedy series Cheval-Serpent (ICI Radio-Canada), from Aetios Productions, and season 28 of morning show Salut Bonjour (TVA), produced by TVA’s in-house team.
Two of the projects to receive funding have international broadcasters already attached, with season five of Buying and Selling, produced by Cineflix Media, committed to TVA-owned French-language channel CASA in Canada and HGTV in the U.S. Meanwhile, animated series Belle et Sébastien will air on ICI Radio-Canada, Knowledge Network and BBC Kids in Canada, as well as VRT (Belgium), RTS (Switzerland) and CNC, M6, Canal+, Piwi+ and ZDF (France). The show is produced by PVP Animation.
Also selected to receive funding was season seven of Accès Illimité (TVA), from Productions Déferlantes, and Ping et Pong (TVA), produced by Kondololé Films.
Quebecor does not publicly disclose how the funds are shared between the recipients.
