TVA renews kids cooking competition series

A second season of Born to be a Chef has been commissioned in advance of its season one premiere this October.

shutterstock_chefTVA has commissioned a second season of cooking competition series Born to be a Chef (La Relève), ahead of its season one premiere.

Produced by Montreal’s Productions Deferlantes, Born to be a Chef (10 x 60 minutes) follows two experienced chefs as they each lead a team of 10 young apprentices, challenging them with culinary assignments, with one apprentice (and his or her mentor) ultimately crowned the best chef.

Season one of Born to be a Chef will premiere on Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. on TVA.

The format was developed by the Quebecor Content creation team and will be launched at MIPCOM this October by Israeli distributor and developer Armoza Formats.
