Cameras roll on CBC’s Bellevue

anna paquinProduction is underway in Montreal on Bellevue, the one-hour drama commissioned by CBC in August.

The eight-part series, which is produced by Muse Entertainment and Back Alley Film Productions, is set to air on CBC in winter 2017.

Bellevue stars Winnipeg-born actress Anna Paquin (True Blood) as Annie Ryder, a detective trying to discover what happened to a transgender teen who goes missing in her hometown. Allen Leech (Downton Abbey) and Shawn Doyle (Fargo) also star.

The series was created by CFC Writers’ Lab grad Jane Maggs and Back Alley co-founder Adrienne Mitchell. Maggs serves as showrunner and executive producer on the series, alongside Mitchell who will also direct the pilot.

Executive producers on the series are Back Alley co-founder Janis Lundman, Muse CEO Michael Prupas, Saving Hope and Rookie Blue co-creator Morwyn Brebner, and Muse’s SVP of development and distribution Jesse Prupas.

Global distribution for the series is handled by Muse Distribution International and TM International.
