Lions Gate and its newly spun-off distribution partner Maple Pictures make their screening debut at this year’s ShowCan with the ensemble piece Crash – directed by Paul Haggis (Due South) and starring Sandra Bullock and Matt Damon, among others – on April 30.

Meanwhile, Odeon Films will unspool its acclaimed Canuck mock-doc It’s All Gone Pete Tong on April 29, followed by The Emperor’s Journey, in from France via Christal Film. The doc about the continent-spanning travels of penguins is being hyped as the next Winged Migration, only colder.

Also scheduled are the National Film Board copro The Last Trapper, the upcoming DreamWorks release Madagascar, and a mystery screening from Alliance Atlantis.
