Production is underway in Vancouver on season two (10 x 60 minutes) of espionage thriller The Romeo Section.
The Haddock Entertainment-produced drama will return to CBC as part of the pubcaster’s fall 2016 lineup, with filming set to wrap on Oct. 12.
Brian Markinson (Mad Men, Charlie Wilson’s War) joins the cast for season two, alongside returning members Andrew Airlie (50 Shades of Grey, Cedar Cove), Juan Riedinger (Narcos, RL Stine’s The Haunting Hour), Leeah Wong (Saving Hope, Intelligence), Eugene Lipinski as Al (Fringe, Intelligence) and Fei Ren (Lucifer, Supernatural).
Haddock Entertainment helmer Chris Haddock created the series and also serves as showrunner. He also executive produces the second season alongside Laura Lightbown, Stephen Surjik, and David Frazee. Jesse McKeown is co-executive producer on the show, with Arvi Liimatainen producing.
The first episode of the new season is being directed by David Frazee, while Stephen Surjik, Amanda Tapping, Anne Wheeler, Michael Robison and Chris Haddock will also direct episodes throughout the season.
The first season of the series went into production last summer, with the season-two renewal coming in March 2016 when CBC announced its 2016-17 slate.
