The Independent Production Fund (IPF) has distributed nearly $2 million in funding to 16 scripted web drama series, including Yellow Bear Studios’ Riding Hood and iThentic’s Save Me.
The 16 successful projects were whittled down from 177 initial applicants, with nine English-language and seven French-language projects being selected. Eleven of the productions chosen are new series, while five are renewals for new episodes of projects previously funded through the program.
On the English-language side, second seasons of Whiskaye Films’ animated comedy White Ninja and Smiley Guy Studios’ Überdude received funding, while a third season of Turbulent’s Switch & Bitch also took home financing.
Elsewhere, She Said Films’ Running With Violet, First Love Films’ Riftworld Chronicles season two, LoCo Motion Pictures’ comedy How to Buy a Baby, Kristal Clear Productions Kristal Clear, Lapaire Productions’ People Watching also received financing.
On the French side, Mistral Média’s 100 amis, Attraction Images’ Game(R), La Récre’s Hypno, Les productions Coton & club’s Le temps des chenilles, La Guérilla’s Polyvalente and Blachfilms Marc-en-peluche season two were also the recipients of funding from the IPF.
