Sol Friedman’s Sundance-winner Bacon & God’s Wrath and Zack Russell’s She Stoops To Conquer are among the Canadian titles added to South by South West Festival’s shorts programs.

Bacon & God’s Wrath will screen in the festival’s documentary shorts program. The doc, which tells the story of a 90-year-old woman who reflects on her life before trying bacon for the first time, won the Sundance Short Film Jury Award for nonfiction.

Ben Petrie’s Her Friend Adam, which also screened at Sundance, will appear in SXSW’s narrative short program. Canadian actor Grace Glowicki picked up Sundance’s Short Film Special Jury Award for Outstanding Performance for her work in the short. Also set to screen in the narrative short program is She Stoops To Conquer. The short is written and directed by Russell, with Kayla Lorette also serving as writer.

Last week, SXSW announced two Canadian features and two Canadian/U.S. coproductions would be included in the festival’s lineup.

Stella Meghie’s Jean of the Joneses will have its world bow in the Narrative Spotlight program. The Slippers, from director Morgan White, and The Other Half, from director and screenwriter Joey Klein, will also have their world premieres at SXSW. White’s feature will screen in the Documentary Spotlight program, while Klein’s will screen in the Narrative Feature section.

In addition, Ethan Hawke-starrer Born to be Blue will feature in the 24 Beats Per Second category. The Canada/U.K. copro, which tells the story of Chet Baker’s comeback from heroin addiction, is making its U.S. premiere.
