Ontario’s provincial government has invested $12.8 million in its Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation to support film and television projects, as well as production-related infrastructure.

Cultural Industries Ontario North, a non-for-profit cultural organization, will receive $694,000 to support the growth of film, television and music projects, with Northern Ontario picking up $650,000 in funding for new equipment and renovations to their post studio and soundstage. MAS Acting Studios will also receive $42,968 to launch a training facility for film, television and voice actors.

The coin will also support 21 film and television projects shot in and around Sudbury. Among the projects supported are the already-shot Born to Be Blue, which picked up $1 million, Letterkenny, which received $723,755 and Two Lovers and a Bear, which picked up $500,000.
