Writer, director and producer Richard Boddington (Against the Wild) has wrapped production on a third film in the Wickensburg series, Secrets of Wickensburg.
The film focuses on a duo attempting to stop British-Canadian actor Julian Richings’ (Patriot) villainous Mr. Hexenmeister and his plans to summon an army of darkness. Like the rest of his films, Boddington served as writer, director and producer.
Canadian actors Natasha Henstridge (Species; pictured right), Erin Pitt (Silent Hill: Revelation; pictured left) and Jensen Gering (Wickensburg) also star.
The first film, Wickensburg, was broadcast in Canada by Super Channel and the second, Return to Wickensburg, is set to broadcast on Super Channel in February. Starz is the U.S. broadcaster for the first two films.
Filming took place primarily in the Parry Sound area in northern Ontario from Aug. 12 to Sept. 3, with financing from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation.
Boddington also wrapped on the dramedy LA Jesus, which he wrote, directed and produced. The L.A.-shot film stars Bradley Stryker (Terrifier 3) as a successful business executive who meets a homeless man in Venice Beach claiming to be Jesus Christ.
Henstridge also stars in the film alongside Terral Altom (Beneath the Black Veil) and Galen Gering (Days of Our Lives).
LA Jesus began production on Oct. 15 and wrapped Nov. 1. The film was entirely financed by Boddington’s distribution company Forward Thinking Film Worldwide.
Boddington told Playback Daily that LA Jesus will be submitted to spring and fall film festivals before finding a distributor.
LA Jesus marks Boddington’s 10th feature film as producer, director and writer.
