Toronto toon shop Decode Entertainment has struck a deal with Penguin Group and Simon & Shuster that will see the publishers act as licensees for Decode’s popular preschool show Franny’s Feet.
The deal will see Penguin’s Grosset & Dunlop subsidiary turn out Franny’s Feet storybooks, readers, stickerbooks and other novelties such as board, lift-the-flap and word-game activity books in 2008. In a separate deal, Simon & Schuster will roll out Franny’s Feet color and activity books and kits.
‘With these great partnerships in place and our recent toy deal with Playskool, we are in a great position to further build the Franny’s Feet brand,’ said Beth Stevenson, Decode EVP of production and development, in a release.
Franny’s Feet airs on broadcasters including Family Channel in Canada, PBS Kids in the U.S., ABC Australia, France 5, Cartoon Network in Japan and Taiwan and Italy’s Rai.
