Toronto-based prodco Vortex Words + Pictures has inked a deal with Menemsha Films to handle the U.S. distribution of Natasha, a feature drama from writer/director David Bezmozgis.

The deal with the Santa Monica-based distributor comes before Natasha‘s world bow at the Atlantic Film Festival on Sept. 24. The feature is an adaptation of a short story of the same name authored by Bezmozgis. Natasha stars Alex Ozerov (Blackbird, What We Have), Deanna Dezmari (Away From Her, Regenesis), Genadijs Dolganovs, Igor Ovadis and Sasha K. Gordon.

Natasha is produced by Bill Marks and Deborah Marks of Vortex Words + Pictures and co-produced by Julian Rosenberg of Toronto-based January Films. The film is executive produced by Daniel Ostroff and Jeff Sackman.
