amypoehler-1Welcome to Sweden, a sitcom produced by Entertainment One, FLX, Syskon and Swedish broadcaster TV4, has been dropped by NBC in its second season.

A eOne spokesperson confirmed the NBC cancellation to Playback Daily. The comedy, which is executive produced by Amy Poehler, was originally commissioned by Sweden’s TV4 as a mostly English-speaking series with some Swedish subtitles. The eOne spokesperson said they could not comment on the future of the series on TV4.

Series star and Amy Poehler’s brother Greg Poehler on Tuesday also posted news of the cancellation to his Instagram account. “Due to some craptastically low ratings in the US, WTS is officially done. I am eternally grateful to all of our fans. When you make a show – and write, produce, obsess and and act in it – all you want us for someone, somewhere, to tell you they appreciate it. There have been so many of you in both Sweden and the US that have done so, and every compliment has made me immeasurably happy,” Poehler wrote on Instagram.

Along with the Poehler siblings, the series was executive produced by Fredrik Arefalk for TV4, eOne’s Carrie Stein and Swedish TV director/creator Felix Herngren for FLX.
