There will be pitching aplenty at the 2007 WIFT International Summit, hosted for the first time by the Toronto chapter of Women in Film and Television, which is calling on TV producers to submit e-mail pitches for chances to win development funds.
The Sun TV Convergence Pitch will select the most suitable concepts to pitch in person in front of an audience at the WIFT summit, which runs July 16-19 in Toronto. The winner, who will receive up to $10,000, will be announced at the closing ceremonies on July 19 in the Queen’s Park Ballroom.
WIFT-T also announced details of the S-Vox Pitch Competition, which will give participants who register for the summit an opportunity to pitch ideas for S-VOX’s flagship network VisionTV. The network is looking for half-hour documentary specials, focusing on notable faith celebrations, festivals, music programming and events.
Four finalists will be selected to pitch their projects in front of an audience on July 17, for a shot at $5,000 in development cash. The deadline to register is July 9.
‘S-VOX remains strongly committed to working with Canadian independent producers and to supporting the advancement of emerging female talent in the film and television industry,’ said S-VOX SVP of programming Mark Prasuhn.
The four-day summit is expected to attract about 600 delegates from around the world, from countries including Afghanistan and New Zealand.
