Hall of Fame selection process

Brainchild of Playback editor Mark Dillon, this first annual Canadian Film and Television Hall of Fame has six official categories, chosen by a high-powered jury of industry professionals, who selected nominees based on the general guidelines. The winners were selected during several rounds of voting and discussions during lively conference calls.

Six Official Categories
• Feature Film (producer, distributor, exhibitor)
• Television (producer, broadcaster, cable)
• Talent (actor, host)
• Creative (writer, director)
• Industry Builder (an individual who crosses the
boundaries and has contributed to the development
of the industry at large)
• Pioneer (posthumous)

General Guidelines for selecting Nominees
• Minimum 25 years dedicated commitment to Canadian film or television
• Significant contributions to the Canadian film and TV industry or the enhancing of its reputation abroad
• Significant professional achievement in the film and TV business,
either in Canada or internationally
• Individuals whose contributions demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to establishing, developing and maintaining the highest standards of excellence in Canadian film and television
