Spin Master appoints Christina Miller as CEO

The long-serving board member will replace outgoing CEO Max Rangel in July.

Toronto-based Spin Master has appointed board member Christina Miller as CEO.

Effective July 7, Miller (pictured) will take over the role from Max Rangel, who will work closely with Miller over the next three months to ensure a smooth transition, according to a news release.

Miller has been an independent director on Spin Master’s board since May 2020, bringing more than 25 years of industry experience to the role. She previously served as president of WarnerMedia’s kids, young adult and classics division from 2019 to 2020, overseeing global content development, production and franchise management for Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Boomerang and Turner Classic Movies.

From 2021 to 2023,  she was chief strategy officer at Red Ventures, a privately held U.S.-based holding company that owns and operates a portfolio of leading digital brands.

She also sits on the boards of L.A.-based Rebel Girls, a digital media company and children’s book publisher, and the Boston-based non-profit Scratch Foundation.

In a statement, Spin Master co-founder Ronnen Harary said Miller “is a storyteller and brand-builder by nature,” and will use her expertise to “further progress our legacy as creators and disrupters in the industry.”

Rangel first joined the company in January 2021 as president, before becoming CEO in April that same year.

“Max has led Spin Master with purpose and a performance focus through a challenging period in our history,” said Spin Master chair and co-founder Anton Rabie. “Under his leadership we have meaningfully diversified the business, enhanced our supply chain capabilities and improved profitability and free cash flow, all of which have contributed to a stronger company, well-positioned for long-term growth.”

In May, Spin Master hired Jonathan Roiter as EVP and CFO following the retirement of Mark Segal, which was first announced in July 2024.
