ABC News Studios has announced the three-part docuseries Murder Has Two Faces, from New York City’s Cortés Filmworks and Toronto’s Blue Ant Studios, will begin streaming on Hulu on May 6.
Hosted by Robin Roberts, the co-anchor of Good Morning America, each episode of the true-crime series unravels a crime that shares uncanny similarities with high-profile cases.
The project is the first one out of Blue Ant’s first-look deal with the Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning Cortés in April 2022, a Blue Ant spokesperson told Playback Daily. Under that deal, Cortés will work with the Blue Ant Media production arm to develop and produce new scripted and unscripted documentary, music, history and biography as well as narrative properties.
Jon Sechrist, Tara Malone, Laura Michalchyshyn as well as Blue Ant co-presidents Matthew Hornburg and Mark Bishop serve as executive producers alongside Lisa Cortés (pictured).
“With Murder Has Two Faces, I wanted to challenge the narrative around whose stories get told — and why,” said Cortés, who also directs, in a statement. “These cases are as haunting as tragic and as deserving of national attention as the ones we all know.”
