CMF allocates $650K across 13 Indigenous prodcos

The Indigenous Company Impact Support Program supports companies who previously received CMF funds through its Indigenous Program.

The Canada Media Fund (CMF) is allocating $650,000 across 13 Indigenous-owned and operated prodcos through its Indigenous Company Impact Support (ICIS) Program.

Eligibility for the funding is limited to companies that had received CMF support for projects through the funder’s Indigenous Program from 2022-23 or 2023-24. ICIS funding can be applied to a variety of activities that promote the companies’ professional and company advancement.

Allowed uses of the funds include company stabilization or growth, training and capacity building, marketing, translation and language services. Each of the selected companies received $50,000.

Five of the selected companies are based in Quebec and include three Montreal-based prodcos: 2Ducks Media, Isuma Productions and Kassiwi Média.

The remaining Quebec prodcos are K8e K8e Productions Artistiques et Culturelles, based in Quebec City and Nikan Productions, based in Wendake.

Another three companies are based in Ontario, with two in Toronto: Big Soul Productions and Wolfwalker Productions. The third Ontario prodco is InterINDigital Entertainment, which is headquartered in Ottawa.

Two companies are based in Nunavut. They are Igloolik-based Kingulliit Productions and Iqaluit’s Taqqut Productions.

The remaining selections are Winnipeg-based Eagle Vision, Duncan, B.C.-based Rogue River Films and Outlook, Sask.-based Treaty Road Productions 2.
