Telefilm Canada has appointed Montreal-based Dominique Lapierre to its board of directors.

Lapierre (pictured), who has been the executive director of Théâtre de la Ville since 2021, will join the board of directors effective June 1 for a five-year term.

This is Lapierre’s second stint with Telefilm Canada. She originally joined in 2002 and remained with the Crown corporation until 2019. Her previous role with Telefilm was national director and Canada Media Fund administrator.

Lapierre is succeeding lawyer Emmanuelle Létourneau, whose five-year term ends June 1. Létourneau is also chair of its communications and public and government affairs committee and a member of its audit committee.

In January, Telefilm added two new members to its Program Strategy and Industry Development department’s project financing team. Myriam Rafla and Natasha Howes joined as the regional English market feature film executives for the Quebec and Western regions, respectively. Meanwhile, Marie-France Godbout, national director, feature film – French market, will be retiring at the end of July.
