Bell Media has renewed both its English and French-language versions of The Traitors format.

CTV’s The Traitors: Canada (pictured) and the French-language Les traîtres for Noovo are both hosted by Karine Vanasse (Plan B). Each version hails from Montreal prodco Entourage Television. All3Media International holds global distribution rights.

The format follows a group of contestants living and working together in a mansion while competing for up to $100,000—with the caveat that some of them may be traitors out to win the prize for themselves.

Casting is now open for season three of The Traitors: Canada; while Les traîtres season two premieres on March 23.

The original version of the format was created and developed by Marc Pos, the chief executive of the Dutch prodco IDTV before he stepped down in January 2023; and Jasper Hoogendoorn, creative director for the All3Media-backed company, in collaboration with RTL’s Creative Unit. This Dutch-language version of The Traitors debuted in the Netherlands on RTL 4 in 2021. Today, the format has more than 30 international versions.

In August 2023, Crave acquired Canadian rights to the U.S., U.K. and Australian versions of The Traitors. In November 2024, Crave acquired rights to the Hungarian version from Paprika Studios.
