Women in Film and Television Atlantic (WIFT-AT) has added seven board members from across the region.
The Nova Scotia-based members are Nikki Martin, filmmaker and co-founder of the Black Wellness Co-op; Morgan Salter, producer and Screen Nova Scotia Content Creator Fund manager; and Amy Saunders, film communications strategist and owner of AlphaPR.
The members hailing from P.E.I. are M’ikmaw director Eliza Knockwood (The Ice Walk); director Sharlene Kelly, a 2023 Whistler Film Festival/PEI Market Accelerator alum; and actor Martina Kelades.
Rounding out the board additions is director Stacy Gardner (The Gaze) from Newfoundland and Labrador.
The new members join filmmaker and chair Tracey Lavigne and producer-director Amy Stewart from New Brunswick. Also on the board are producer and vice-chair Terry Greenlaw, international consultant and executive member Jan Miller and editor and treasurer Kimberlee McTaggart from Nova Scotia; as well as Newfoundland filmmaker Ife Alaba.
“The incoming cohort of board members are as passionate about the growth and development of the industry in the Atlantic region as we have been for many years, upholding the mission of WIFT-AT,” said Lavigne in a statement.
