Project 10, by coastal sign first-look deal

The first coproduction out of the deal is the Madison Tevlin-led podcast 21 Questions, slated for release later this year.

Project 10 Productions has inked a first-look development deal with production and marketing agency by coastal.

The Toronto-based companies will work together to develop scripted, unscripted and reality television projects using by coastal talent. The first coproduction from the deal is the podcast 21 Questions, hosted by Madison Tevlin (pictured).

21 Questions is a spinoff of Tevlin’s CBC Gem series Who Do You Think I Am? from by coastal’s founder Sylvia Beirnes and Jeni Besworth. On the podcast, Tevlin and her guests will avoid a typical interview format by taking turns asking each other questions.

The title and final question is a nod to the duplicated chromosome found in those with Down syndrome. Fairmont Hotels & Resorts will be the official hotel partner of 21 Questions with episodes being filmed at select Fairmont locations. Confirmed guests include Nelly Furtado, Woody Harrelson and Emma Roberts, with more to be announced. It is expected to debut later this year.

Tevlin became the first person with Down syndrome to be nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Talk Show Host in 2023, according to a news release.

“At Project 10, we are always looking for partners with unique points of view,” said Project 10 CEO Andrew Barnsley in a statement. “That is why we are so excited to work with Sylvia at by coastal whose emphasis on creating content that provokes genuine emotion really spoke to us.”
