Quebec’s original music video channel MusiquePlus will make a brief return to television for a one-off special, Musiqueplus En Rappel.

Produced by Zone3 in collaboration with Bell Media, and with the support of its partner Le Lait, the special will air simultaneously on Noovo, Noovo.ca and Crave on Sept. 3.

Hosted by multi-disciplinary artist and TV presenter Chloée Deblois (pictured), Musiqueplus En Rappel aims to bring its brand of music videos and musical segments to a new generation of music lovers.

Included in the special is an updated format in the style of Musiqueplus’ Artists of the Month, where four emerging Quebec artists will take turns on stage to perform. According to a release, there will also be “surprise appearances and nods to the iconic segments” that contributed to the popularity of Musiqueplus.

Musiqueplus was co-founded in 1986 by Canadian television impresario Moses Znaimer, and initially broadcast only music videos, in similar fashion to MuchMusic in English Canada, before branching out into other types of content such as fashion. The channel changed owners over the years and at various times was owned by CHUM, Astral Media, Bell Media and finally Groupe V Média, which shuttered the brand in 2019.
