Citytv sets scripted, unscripted acquisitions for fall 2024-25

Upfronts '24: The Golden Bachelorette and Brilliant Minds lead Citytv's fall primetime schedule, with Stags set as a Citytv+ exclusive.

Citytv and Citytv+ have acquired five new scripted and unscripted series for the fall broadcast schedule in 2024-25.

Announced Monday (June 3), the lineup includes hour-long scripted dramas Brilliant Minds from NBC and Stags from Paramount+, half-hour Fox animated comedy Universal Basic Guys, and hour-long reality series Judy Justice from Freevee and The Golden Bachelorette (pictured) from ABC.

Brilliant Minds, The Golden Bachelorette and Universal Basic Guys are joining Citytv’s primetime schedule.

The Golden Bachelorette, which sees an older woman seeking a life partner for her sunset years, is part of Citytv’s Monday schedule, followed by Brilliant Minds, which tracks a famed neurologist tackling the mysteries of the human mind with his team of interns.

Universal Basic Guys is the newest addition to Citytv’s Sunday animation block. The series follows two brothers who are put on a basic income program after losing their jobs to automation and try to find a new purpose in life.

The Paramount+ drama Stags has been acquired as an exclusive for Citytv+ on Prime Video Channels. The series centres on a bachelor party in South America that quickly turns south when the party-goers discover one of them is smuggling cocaine.

Finally, Judy Justice has been added to Citytv’s daytime schedule. The series is a spinoff of the long-running court series Judge Judy, featuring retired Manhattan Family Court judge Judy Sheindlin as she adjudicates real-life small claims.

The fall schedule includes a total of 21 new and returning series on Citytv and Citytv+, with returning shows including America’s Got Talent, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, the Chicago franchise, Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Bob’s Burgers, Krapopolis, and more.
