Thunderbird Entertainment names new CFO

Simon Bodymore succeeds outgoing CFO Barb Harwood, who will depart effective March 1.

Vancouver’s Thunderbird Entertainment Group has appointed Simon Bodymore as the company’s new chief financial officer.

Bodymore replaces long-time CFO Barb Harwood, who will step down on March 1 after 19 years with the company, according to a news release, which said she “has decided to transition out of the role.”

Bodymore will be based in Vancouver and report to Thunderbird CEO and chair Jennifer Twiner McCarron.

Since 2014, Bodymore has served as CFO at Vancouver-based software company Tasktop Technologies. He has more than 25 years of experience leading financial teams for public and private companies, with a particular concentration on working with fast-growing Canadian companies that operate internationally.

“Simon has an amazing track record of helping fast-growing companies scale effectively and efficiently,” said Twiner McCarron in a statement. “He also has great experience working with entrepreneurially-minded leaders to further their businesses. I am very much looking forward to working with Simon as we move into the next phase of our journey to becoming a major global studio.”

Twiner McCarron also thanked Harwood for her last two decades of work at the company, which included “the integral leadership role she played in seeing us through our IPO.”

Harwood will remain with Thunderbird until the end of the month to ensure continuity in reporting of the Q2 fiscal 2024 results.
