The CW Television Network has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with Vancouver’s Network Media Group and Network Entertainment for the prodco’s I Am library of feature docs.
The docs will run as part of a movie night on the CW, according to a news release. The agreement covers access to the existing library, as well as the production and delivery of three new I Am titles to premiere on the U.S. network.
The I Am brand focuses solely on the lives and legacies of global cultural icons, and began in 2012 with I Am Bruce Lee.
Since then the brand has grown to include 15 films, focusing on subjects such as Burt Reynolds, Chris Farley, Paul Walker and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
“Our partnership validates the long-term value and importance of producing world-class legacy productions with timeless appeal,” said Derik Murray, founder and CEO of Network Entertainment, in a statement.
“We’re looking forward to collaborating with the CW team to produce the three new feature docs already commissioned and beyond, and continuing to celebrate the lives of several new icons in our I Am format,” he continued.
