Sovimage-produced anthology series Une affaire criminelle has been picked up for a number of European territories, plus more.

European pubcaster Arte has acquired seasons one and two of Crave and Noovo series Une affaire criminelle (A Criminal Affair).

Produced by Montreal’s Sovimage, the anthology series (16 x 60-minutes) follows a different cold case each season that involves police error. The series will be broadcast in spring 2024 in France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, and Switzerland.

Une affaire criminelle is written by Joanne Arseneau. Stéphane Lapointe directed season one, which stars Céline Bonnier, Louis-Philippe Dandenault and Maxime-Olivier Potvin; Pascal L’Heureux helmed season two, featuring Alice Moreault, Julie Le Breton and Pierre-Yves Cardinal.

Encore Television-Distribution oversaw the deal, with Chrystine Girard, head of international distribution, noting that the agreement “allows us to make a real foray into Germany and German-speaking territories,” in a statement.

WildBrain

WildBrain TV and Télémagino have picked up the French-speaking Canada rights to Hello Kitty: Super Style.

The 52 x 11-minute children’s series is produced by Paris-based Watch Next and Monello, as well as Monza, Italy’s Maga Animation Studio, with Paris distributor Kids First handling global sales, excluding Asia.

Hello Kitty: Super Style is available to English-speaking Canada via Amazon Kids+, which co-developed the series and also holds U.S. and Australia rights.

Samsung

Samsung TV Plus has expanded its free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel Conan O’Brien TV to Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The channel launched on Dec. 13 and features 30-minute segments from the late night show Conan, which ran from 2010 to 2021. Samsung provides more than 2,500 channels globally, and has more than 535 million active devices , according to a news release.
