CBC greenlights Ghosting with Luke Hutchie and Matthew Finlan

The unscripted paranormal comedy series is produced by Blue Ant Studios and set for a winter 2024 launch.

CBC has commissioned an unscripted paranormal comedy series from Blue Ant Studios.

Ghosting with Luke Hutchie and Matthew Finlan (8 x 30 minutes) is created by the titular duo and was filmed around Ontario this summer. The series will premiere on CBC Gem in winter 2024, according to a news release.

The series is produced by Blue Ant Studios in association with Luke Hutchie Productions. Hutchie and Finlan serve as executive producers alongside Blue Ant Studios’ Jennifer Harkness, Laura Michalchyshyn and Zachary Frank. Maureen Riley (Still Standing) is the producer. Global licensing rights for the series are with Blue Ant International.

Ghosting with Luke Hutchie and Matthew Finlan will follow the duo on their quest to investigate whether Canada’s most haunted places are “haunted” or “not.” Each episode will see the two joined by celebrity guests as they work to reach their verdict.

Among Hutchie’s credits is the short-form OUTtv series Ezra, which he created and starred in. Finlan’s acting credits include the horror film Orphan: First Kill and slasher comedy Hell of a Summer.

“[Hutchie and Finlan’s] fun-loving personalities and senses of humour promise to infuse a unique and entertaining twist to the paranormal genre,” said Harkness, SVP, unscripted development and production at Blue Ant Studios, in a statement.

Jennifer Dettman, CBC’s executive director, unscripted content, added that the series “brings a unique spin to the paranormal genre” and is a “fun way to celebrate and explore our local communities.”

Hutchie is repped by Mia Theberge and Cary Liberman at The Characters Talent Agency. Finlan is repped by Christopher Oldfield at Oldfield Talent Management and Corey Menzies at Principals Talent Management.
