The Inside Out Toronto 2SLGBTQ+ film festival kicked off its 33rd edition with an opening reception attended by a number of Canadian film producers and talent.
The opening-night event last Thursday (May 25) was also attended by Inside Out co-heads Elie Chivi, who is also executive director, and Andrew Murphy, who is also artistic director.
The festival runs in-person and virtually through Sunday (June 4) with 107 films from 30 countries, including the world premieres of four Canadian projects — the documentaries Supporting Our Selves by Lulu Wei, Leilani’s Fortune by Loveleen Kaur, A Queer’s Guide to Spiritual Living by Ari Conrad Birch and Michal Heuston, and comedy series Bloom Room.
The festival’s annual International Finance Forum has been postponed until November amid the Writers Guild of America strike.
