Netflix has hired two former AMC Networks development executives in titles that include both the U.S. and Canada.
Emma Miller has joined Netflix as director, overall deals, series (U.S. and Canada) while Carrie Gillogly is set to join Netflix as director, drama series (U.S. and Canada) in roles based in Los Angeles, Playback Daily understands.
Miller (pictured left) reports to Nne Ebong, VP, overall deals, series, and Gillogly (pictured right) will report to Jinny Howe, VP, drama series. Both Ebong and Howe are also based in L.A.
Miller and Gillogly were elevated to co-heads of AMC scripted series in September 2020, according to a news release from the network at the time.
Miller also served as SVP, scripted development and programming at AMC Networks since November 2014, on series such as Fear the Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels and The Son. Prior to that, she had creative executive roles at Amblin Television and Grady Twins Productions.
Gillogly served as SVP, scripted programming at AMC Networks, where she has overseen such series as Into the Badlands, The Terror, The Son, and Dispatches From Elsewhere. She joined AMC Networks in 2012, where she previously had roles including VP of scripted programming and director of scripted programming. Prior to that, she was development executive at Gerber Pictures.
Netflix Canada recently held a splashy reception to officially open its Canadian HQ in Toronto, where the team that includes Tara Woodbury, director, content – Canada, Netflix, and Danielle Woodrow, director, content – Canada, are based.
