Blue Ant International, A+E Networks seek Lakefront Luxury

Blue Ant International and A+E Networks have inked a copro deal for a third season of the Canadian lifestyle series.

Blue Ant International and A+E Networks have inked a coproduction deal for a third season of Canadian lifestyle series Lakefront Luxury.

The agreement was announced Tuesday (May 9) as part of a raft of sales and presales for unscripted content within the distributor’s catalogue. Blue Ant International is the U.K.-based distribution arm of Toronto-headquartered Blue Ant Media.

Lakefront Luxury is produced by Toronto’s Nikki Ray Media Agency, and showcases buyers seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life with a waterfront home.

The third season will air on A+E as part of its Home.Made.Nation programming block and is currently in production. Blue Ant International and A+E Networks will co-finance the new season, a spokesperson for Blue Ant Media tells Playback Daily.

A+E Networks has also acquired the first two seasons of the series (20 x 30 minutes), which previously aired on Blue Ant-owned channel Cottage Life.

In a separate deal, Blue Ant International has secured a greenlight for a fourth season of crime series The Killer in My Family (26 x 60 minutes; Woodcut Media) for Lifetime through a presale with A+E.

The distributor also announced a number of content sales to Smithsonian Channel in the U.S. and U.K.-based streaming platform True Royalty TV.

Smithsonian has licensed the one-hour documentary The Black West: A Counter History of the Wild West (Capa Films) and nature series Ireland’s Wild Islands (3 x 60 minutes; Crossing the Line Productions), and renewed its rights to 8 Days That Made Rome (8 x 60 minutes; October Films).

True Royalty TV, meanwhile, has picked up 14 titles from Blue Ant’s catalogue of royal content, including one-hour documentaries Queen’s Coronation in Colour (Oxford Film and TV) and Harry and Meghan: Two Troubled Years (ITN Productions), as well as two-parters Christmas at Stately Homes of England (ITN Productions) and The Diana Interview: Revenge of A Princess (Minnow Films).
