Toronto-based media company CosMedia.Inc is set to launch more Canadian content into the Latin American (LatAm) market under a new partnership with Colombia-based network RCN and its RCN Distribution division.
The deal is part of CosMedia.Inc’s new LatAm distribution arm, which launched in January. It gives RCN exclusive localization and distribution rights to the CosMedia.Inc catalogue of movie and series IP for the LatAm market, according to a news release.
That catalogue includes Canadian movies from Montreal-based prodco Incendo, with which CosMedia.Inc inked a deal as part of the launch of its LatAm distribution arm.
The pipeline of content from Incendo has more than 50 titles, including new first-run romance titles Destination Love (2021) and Love and Penguins (2022); first-run thrillers Terror Train (2022), Marry F*** Kill (2023) and The Amityville Curse (2023); drama Dawn, Her Dad and the Tractor (pictured); and star-driven titles No Surrender, Stealing Paradise, Look Again and Wandering Eye, among others.
“The RCN deal is the perfect partnership to finalize our LatAm distribution strategy,” said Mike Cosentino, president of CosMedia.Inc, in a statement. “They are experts in localization and have best-in-class relationships with broadcasters and streamers big and small. With their expertise, the catalogue is in great hands.”
CosMedia.Inc launched in spring 2021 and has secured a variety of partnerships with others, including a distribution deal with Fremantle.
