Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau were among the guests at a reception marking the official opening of Netflix Canada’s permanent office in downtown Toronto.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos along with various dignitaries and industry stakeholders were also in attendance at Tuesday night’s (April 4) event, along with a slew of Canadian stars, including Playback 2022 Changemakers of the Year Shamier Anderson and Stephan James, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Jason Priestley, Jay Baruchel, Eric McCormack, Robbie Amell and Mae Martin, creator of the newly announced, Sphere Media-produced Netflix limited series Tall Pines.

Other stars at the gathering, according to a news release, included: Nina Dobrev, Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Chalke, Anna Cathcart, Connor Jessup, Mathieu Dufour, Adam DiMarco, Elisha Cuthbert, Avan Jogia, Marie-Evelyne Lessard, Lamar Johnson, Raymond Ablack, Rebecca Ablack, Sara Waisglass, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Jean Yoon, Sarah Gadon, Noah Schnapp, Kiana Madeira, and Louis Morissette.

“We’re excited to have a new home here in Toronto and are looking forward to all of the great work to come with the talented people in this country,” Sarandos told the crowd at the event.
