Prime Video has commissioned a French-language culinary docuseries from Montreal prodco Pixcom.
Pendant ce temps en cuisine (8 x 30 minutes) is an Amazon original series and follows six Quebec-based chefs as they navigate the trials and tribulations of working in the restaurant industry.
The series is produced by Pixcom in association with Amazon Studios and is scheduled to premiere in Canada on March 10. Pixcom’s Nicola Merola, Charles Lafortune, and Sylvie Desrochers are executive producers, with Jennifer Gatien as producer and Stephan Peterson as series producer.
Directors on Pendant ce temps en cuisine are Lysandre Leduc-Boudreau, Karen Cho, and Riel Lazarus.
The chefs featured in the series include five from Montreal-based restaurants: Antonin Mousseau-Rivard from the restaurant Le Mousso; Simon Mathys of Mastard; Alex Cohen and Raegan Steinberg from Arthurs; Maria-Josée de Frias and Zoya de Frias of Montreal’s Le Virunga; and Mike Lafaille from Kwizinn. Rounding out the featured chefs are Kim Côté and Perle Morency from Kamouraska, Que.-based Côté Est.
Nav Saini, head of content, Prime Video Canada said the series is part of the streamer’s continued efforts “to create programming that appeals to francophone customers,” in a statement.
The commission marks the second Pixcom-produced project announced for Prime Video in February. The streamer ordered a second season of the 2021 series Nuit Blanche with Corus Entertainment specialty channel Séries Plus, which will go into production this summer. The series originally aired on ICI Radio-Canada Télé.
