Bell Media’s streaming service Crave has ordered the series Katherine est dans le pré, hosted by Canadian comedian Katherine Levac.
The 4 x 30-minute unscripted series is produced by Ginette Gauthier and Julie Normandin of Montreal’s Attraction in collaboration with Bell Media and Fremantle. It is directed by Miriam Laquerre Tantawy.
Production for the series took place this fall in Pike River, Que., at the farm of a family who starred in season nine of L’amour est dans le pré.
Katherine est dans le pré will be released in French on Crave in January. It follows Levac as she introduces her guest stars to the daily activities of farm life — from milking cows to driving tractors and cleaning the barn. The guest stars will be announced in the coming weeks, according to a spokesperson for the series.
Levac is also host of season 11 of L’amour est dans le pré, which will premiere this winter on Bell Media’s Noovo. It is based on British magazine Country Living’s original format, The Farmer Wants A Wife, which is licensed by Fremantle. CTV has greenlit an English-language version of the format, produced by Vancouver’s Lark Productions.
Crave ordered the fourth season of Canada’s Drag Race earlier this month. The streaming service will also release Catalyst and Blue Ant Studios’ the untitled Carolyn Taylor project, which went into production in October, in 2023.
