TSN has greenlit another feature documentary from athlete empowerment brand Uninterrupted Canada, with this one chronicling longstanding rivalry between the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats football teams.
The doc is being made in partnership with Bell Media, the Canadian Football League (CFL), and tire retailer OK Tire, which is sponsoring the film in association with Blackhawk Tire. Bell Media plans to debut the hour-long film exclusively on sports network TSN this fall.
Uninterrupted Canada — co-led by CEO Scott Moore (former Sportsnet president) and chief content officer Vinay Virmani, in partnership with Toronto rapper Drake — is the first international expansion of Uninterrupted, founded by LeBron James and Maverick Carter.
The company has worked with Bell Media on a several other titles. A year ago the two signed an agreement — along with Canadian Olympic gold medal winner Christine Sinclair and management company Envision Sports & Entertainment — for the feature documentary SINC: The Christine Sinclair Story.
In July of last year, Uninterrupted Canada and Bell Media partnered with DreamCrew Entertainment and The SpringHill Company on the feature-length doc Black Ice by Hubert Davis, which details the history of Black hockey players. It will make its world premiere at next month’s Toronto International Film Festival.
During its 2022-23 upfront announcement, Bell Media announced a number of other Uninterrupted Canada docs bound for TSN, including one on Montreal-born NBA champion Chris Boucher and another about Canadian ice hockey icon Dr. Hayley Wickenheiser.
