Hot Sheet: Stranger Things dominates TV demand in Canada

Toronto-shot Amazon Studios' The Boys, which premiered its third season on Prime Video on June 3, was also on the top 10 digital demand list in Canada.

Netflix original series Stranger Things has topped overall TV demand in Canada for a third week in a row.

Starring Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard and Winona Ryder, Stranger Things led both the top 10 digital originals and top 10 overall TV shows in Canada for the week of May 30 to June 5. It was 115.12 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada for that period, according to Parrot Analytics.

Lucasfilm’s Obi-Wan Kenobi (34.16), directed by Toronto’s Deborah Chow, came in at No. 2 on the digital originals list; followed by Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian (26.1) at No. 3; Toronto-shot Paramount+ series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (24.35) at No. 4; and HBO Max’s Our Flag Means Death (24.06) at No. 5.

Toronto-shot Amazon Studios’ The Boys (22.79), which premiered its third season on Prime Video on June 3, was also on the top 10 digital demand list in Canada, ranking at No. 6. Crave sitcom Letterkenny (15.95), produced by New Metric Media, was also on the digital demand list at No. 9.

In the overall TV series demand list, Obi-Wan Kenobi (34.16) also ranked at No. 2; followed by NBC’s Saturday Night Live (29.56) at No. 3; Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants (26.6) at No. 4; and Disney’s The Owl House (26.31) at No. 5.
