M ontreal’s Incendo has gone into production on its sixth romantic comedy of the year, When Love Blooms.
Penned by Jack Waz and directed by Éric Tessier, the film stars Sarah Power (Good Witch, Killjoys, American Gothic) as a risk management analyst who ends up moving back to her hometown, where romance begins to blossom between her and a charming resident.
The Montreal-shot project is produced by Samantha Ellison, with Incendo’s Jean Bureau and Ian Whitehead serving as executive producers.
A broadcaster for the project has not yet been announced.
When Love Blooms comes during a busy year for Incendo, which has continued to produce at a prolific pace since shifting its focus from thrillers to romantic comedies in 2020. In March, the prodco went into production on Montreal-shot Sweet as Maple Syrup and, that same month, coproduced New Zealand-shot Destination Love with Screentime New Zealand. Last month, Incendo and Screentime New Zealand have gone into production on Written in the Stars in New Zealand, while Incendo also filmed The Secret Sauce in Montreal. In February, the prodco completed production on its first rom-com of the year, Love Knots.
