Sphere Media’s Oasis Animation has hired veteran producer Marianne Culbert (pictured) as head of production.

The former Portfolio Entertainment exec will oversee all production activities at the animation studio. Former head of production Diane Dallaire left Oasis Animation earlier this month to “pursue personal projects.”

Culbert has more than 30 years of experience in television production, most recently serving as VP of production at Portfolio Entertainment. Previously, Culbert held roles at Mercury Filmworks and Nelvana. She has served as a producer and executive producer a number of series over the years for studios and channels such as Disney, PBS, Netflix and Teletoon.

“We are extremely delighted and excited to welcome Marianne Culbert in our team,” said Oasis Animation president Jacques Bilodeau in a statement. “With her knowledge of the industry and her inspiring leadership style, Marianne will bring a breath of fresh air to the team, which is currently working on numerous significant and stimulating projects.”

The studio’s parent company Sphere Media recently named former TVA Group exec Denis Rozon as EVP and chief financial officer, overseeing the company’s subsidiaries, which also include BGM, Sienna Films, Go Films, WaZabi Films and Sphere Media Distribution.
