Pixcom has named former WAM Media GRP head of production Jennifer Gatien as its head of factual television and producer.
The role, which was created for her, sees Gatien oversee all international unscripted development and production slates for the Montreal-based company – supervising the development of new factual projects, pitching them to networks and producing these new series.
Reporting to Pixcom president and producer Nicola Merola, she officially started with Pixcom last week and departed WAM last year.
With close to two decades of experience in the industry as a producer, line producer and production manager, Gatien’s experience includes working on Pixcom shows such as Restoration Garage and Dangerous Flights. She previously worked at Pixcom from 2011 to 2015 as production manager.
Most recently, she served as an executive producer on Montreal-based WAM’s true crime series The Detectives (CBC), which blends the real investigations of Canadian detectives with first-person interviews and scripted re-enactments.
“I am so thrilled to have Jennifer coming back to the Pixcom team in this new managing role. Together, and with the creative talents we have here, I know that strong and fun projects will be unleashed on the world,” said Pixcom’s Merola in a statement.
