Crave to debut French-language version of Corner Gas Animated

An all-Quebecois cast has voiced seasons two and three, to be released on Crave on Dec. 18, days after the premiere of the series' first Christmas special.

Corner Gas Animated has been adapted for Crave’s Quebec audiences in time for the holiday season.

Season two and three of the series has been voiced with an all-Quebecois cast and will be available on the Bell Media-owned streaming service Friday (Dec. 18). Comedian Sylvain Larocque was hired to review the scripts and localize them for Quebec audiences.

Crave made a significant push to tap into Canada’s French-language market in early 2020, adding more than 6,000 hours of French-language content.

The broadcast of season three of Corner Gas Animated wraps today (Dec. 14) with its first Christmas special on CTV Comedy. Star, creator and producer Brent Butt has released a holiday single to coincide with the premiere. The single, titled “Everyone Can Sing at Christmas,” is distributed by Universal Music and Hidden Pony Records and is currently available on music streaming platforms and the iTunes Store. A music video to go along with the song was released on Nov. 30.

This isn’t the first time a Canadian series has released a single – season five of Schitt’s Creek featured the song “A Little Bit Alexis,” written by star Annie Murphy for the screen. It peaked at No. 21 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic digital song sales list.

Corner Gas Animated season three will be available to Crave’s English-language viewers on Friday. It debuted on its exclusive U.S. home, streaming service IMDb TV, on Dec. 4. The series is produced by Prairie Pantoons and Moving Mountoons.
