Based in Montreal, the office is led by partner and manager Marc Hamou (pictured), with manager Michael Rimock also joining the Canadian arm. Hamou will work between the Montreal and Beverly Hills offices.

The strategy behind the Montreal office is to strengthen Thruline’s relationship with agencies in Canada, Hamou tells Playback Daily, and offer more opportunities for Canadian talent south of the border.

“We’ve had a lot of success over the last 20 years and have a reputation for creating a pipeline for Canadian talent,” says Hamou. “I’m excited to work in Canada as the talent pool keeps getting larger and larger.”

Hamou joined Thruline Entertainment as a manager 15 year ago and became a partner in 2017. Thruline’s Canadian clients include Michael Cera, Jay Baruchel, Emily VanCamp, Jason Priestley, Keir Gilchrist, Katie Findlay, Jared Abrahamson, Mark O’Brien, Giacomo Gianniotti and Jessica Lucas.

“Many of our longest and most satisfying talent relationships are the ones we started in Canada,” said Hamou. “The goal is to continue to identify and nurture the best Canadian talent, both rising and established, and continue collaborating with Canadian agents in the efforts to take these artists to the next level.”

Thruline also plans to grow its production work in Canada, with details to come at a later date. The company’s production credits include the Hulu series The Great, created by Tony McNamara, and Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle.
