M ontreal’s Pixcom has partnered with Tel Aviv-based distributor Keshet International and L.A.-based management company and prodco Thruline Entertainment to develop a legal drama for the Canadian and international markets.

Prejudice is created by Canadian writer Celeste Parr (Ethel), with Port Perry, Ont.-born actor Emily VanCamp (The Falcon and Winter Soldier; pictured) attached to star and executive produce.

The series follows the tale of a rising Toronto litigator whose career and marriage to a Senator are thrown into upheaval when her past as a sex worker is publicly exposed. Pixcom and Keshet will produce the series in collaboration with Thruline.

“Eminently talented and likable, Emily is our perfect Liesl,” said Charles Lafortune, Pixcom’s SVP of content and creative affairs, in a statement. “We are so excited to have her on board this compelling and suspenseful procedural that forces us to examine our own biases and ideals.”

Keshet Studios, Keshet International’s U.S.-based studio, recently produced both the When Heroes Fly remake Echo 3 for Apple TV+ and A Small Light for Disney+ and National Geographic; while Keshet U.K. produced the False Flag remake Suspicion for Apple TV+.

Pixcom’s resume includes scripted series Audrey’s Back, Wong & Winchester, The Wall, Dark Lake, Indefensible and Alert Squad.

VanCamp is repped by Thruline Entertainment and UTA. Parr is repped by Thruline and Carl Liberman at The Characters Talent Agency.
