Pixcom adds former Quebecor VP to team

Ginette Viens has joined the Montreal-based company as its VP, international productions and executive producer.

In her newly created role, the executive will report to president and producer Nicola Merola and oversee all of the Montreal-based production company’s international scripted and non-scripted development and production activities. Both Greg Dummett, content producer, scripted, and Holly Brace-Lavoie, director of development, non-scripted report to Viens (pictured).

“We created a senior level position for Ginette where she’ll have the freedom to express her creativity, and the support to take our development and productions to new heights,” Merola said in a statement about the decision. A spokesperson for the company confirmed to Playback Daily that Viens has already started working for Pixcom.

Prior to joining the Hellfire Heroes and You Can’t Ask That prodco, Viens worked for TVA and Quebecor Content. While at TVA, she occupied various positions such as sponsorship manager, entertainment director and general manager, TVA Creation. In 2013, she joined Quebecor Content as VP, brand and content, a role that saw her be in charge of all original content for Quebecor’s various linear and non-linear platforms, greenlight roughly 80 productions per year and assist with non-linear platform Club illico reaching commercial success.

Pixcom, founded in 1987, and has a team of 50 and works with over 2,000 freelancers.
