Uninterrupted tackles mental health for Bell Let’s Talk

Short-form series Hidden Opponent profiles Canadian athletes on their mental health experiences and will be shared across Bell Media's social media platforms.

Athlete-centred content brand Uninterrupted Canada has premiered a new short-form series with Bell Media for Bell Let’s Talk Day.

Hidden Opponent is an ongoing series that features athletes speaking candidly about their personal experiences with mental health. It launches with profiles of three Canadian Olympic athletes – three-time sprint medalist Andre De Grasse (pictured), pole-vaulting champion Alysha Newman and long distance runner Lanni Marchant.

The series will be shared across Bell Media’s programs and social media platforms as part of the company’s annual mental health initiative.

Bell Let’s Talk was launched in 2010 to help raise funds for mental health organizations and programs and reduce stigmas around mental illness. This year’s initiative takes place on Jan. 29, with individuals encouraged to share the hashtag #BellLetsTalk on Twitter.

Uninterrupted Canada has an exclusive partnership with Bell Media for its linear and digital platforms, bringing the brand’s long-form content to CTV channels, TSN and streaming service Crave.

The company launched in August 2019 as a Canadian branch of the athlete-centred brand founded by LeBron James and Maverick Carter, with Drake signed on as a partner. Former Sportsnet president Scott Moore serves as CEO while producer Vinay Virmani is chief content officer.
