The Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) has announced that Barry creator and exec producer Bill Hader will participate in an “In Conversation With” session, along with HBO’s EVP of programming Amy Gravitt.
Hader – an Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated actor – directed, wrote, produced and starred in HBO original Barry, about a burned out assassin trying to make it big in the L.A. theatre scene. The dark comedy received 13 Emmy nominations in its first season and was recently greenlit for its third. He was also a long-time cast member on Saturday Night Live (2005-2013) and is the co-creator of IFC’s Documentary Now!
Gravitt meanwhile oversees development and production on HBO’s original comedy slate, including Barry and other well-known series such as Insecure, Curb Your Enthusiasm and VEEP. Some of her upcoming projects include RUN with Killing Eve creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Vicky Jones and A Black Lady Sketch Show with Robin Thede and Issa Rae.
The festival previously announced that Bodyguard and Line of Duty showrunner Jed Mercurio would make his North American speaking engagement debut at BANFF this year.
BANFF will run in Alberta from June 9 to 12.
