On Dec. 4, Women in Film and Television – Toronto (WIFT-T) held its annual Crystal Awards at the Arcadian Court, celebrating the accomplishments of Canadian women in the film and TV industry.
Hosted by Global News anchor Farah Nasser, this year’s ceremony saw WIFT-T honour industry veterans including Ontario Creates president and CEO Karen-Thorne Stone, Innovate By Day’s CEO and chief strategist Deb Day, Discovery Networks GM Edwina Follows, Technicolor VP Grace Carnale-Davis and DOP Zoe Dirse. The Crystal’s also ushered in a new wave of talent, recognizing its 2018 mentorship cohort. Meanwhile, outgoing WIFT-T exec director Heather Webb was surprised with a special tribute for her eight years of work leading the not-for-profit.
