Hollywood Suite has appointed Quincy Raby (pictured) as its new director of operations following the retirement of Keith Wilson.
Raby, the former GM of Viceland channel in Canada, will oversee all operational aspects of Hollywood Suite, including on-air and production. She starts Nov. 5 and will report to president David Kines.
Raby also previously served as director of marketing at Cineflix Media (2010-2016) and later as creative director at the company. Earlier in her career she held the role of director of marketing and communications at GlassBOX Television and marketing and communications manager at CHUM International.
Wilson meanwhile has served as Hollywood Suite’s director of operations since the specialty channel launched in 2011. Kines said Wilson, who was formerly the director of operations for City News, “played a huge role in getting us on the air, keeping us on the air, and making sure all our facilities – from edit suites to boardrooms – ran smoothly.”
Raby joins as Hollywood Suite is looking to increase its early-stage investment in film and TV projects. Earlier in the year the company went into production on its first-ever feature production, Ferris’s Room. It also boarded Shaftesbury’s The Carmilla Movie and Jeremy Torrie’s The Corruption of Divine Providence as co-financiers.
In August, the CRTC renewed Hollywood Suite’s broadcasting licence for an additional five years, imposing a condition of licence that Hollywood Suite must devote at least 10% of the previous year’s gross annual revenues to the acquisition of Canadian content or investment in Canadian programming.
