Toronto-based kids producer/distributor 9 Story Media Group has made a number of management changes across its international businesses, including promoting Wendy Harris to SVP, content and creative affairs.
Reporting to chief creative officer Angela C. Santomero, and based out of 9 Story’s New York office, Harris will direct the creative content process for development, production and current series ensuring all properties meet the company’s creative goals. Harris has worked with children’s media co Out of the Blue, which 9 Story acquired in January, since 2005. She served as exec producer on Blue’s Clues and was co-creator and exec producer of its spin-off Blue’s Room.
Joining the company’s New York team is Marcy Pritchard, who has been appointed SVP of business and creative affairs. Pritchard will work to grow the 9 Story USA office and streamline integration efforts with the company’s Toronto and Dublin studios. She’s the former VP, development and series production at Nickelodeon, where she managed animated and live-action current series, development projects and digital initiatives.
Reporting to Pritchard is Alex Breen, who has been promoted from senior producer to VP, interactive. He’ll oversee the creation and distribution of interactive content. Sarah Wallendjack, who steps into the new role of VP, production and development in New York, will report to Harris, as will Rachel Kalban, who will continue in her role as VP, research and curriculum.
In Dublin, Jennie Stacey has been promoted from director of development to VP, development, reporting to Santomero. She will lead the company’s development efforts for original television series. At 9 Story’s Dublin studio, Brown Bag Films, co-founder Darrah O’Connell has been named group creative director for the global studio, while longtime director Cory Bobiak has been promoted to creative director in Toronto, reporting to O’Connell.
Additional Brown Bag promotions include Gillian Higgins, who is now SVP, production (Europe); Louise Cornally, named SVP, finance and business affairs; and John Brady, who is now VP production technology. Higgins, Cornally and Brady are based in Dublin and report to COO Cathal Gaffney.
At 9 Story Distribution International, Alix Wiseman is promoted to SVP, distribution and acquisitions, reporting to CCO Natalie Osborne, while Stephen Kelley is upped to VP, distribution (EMEA) and Federico Vargas moves to VP, distribution for Asia Pacific, Latin America and Iberia. Both Kelley and Vargas will be based in Dublin and report to Wiseman.
Lastly, 9 Story has promoted Jennifer Ansley to SVP of marketing and communications, with Gord Garwood moving to the newly created position of VP creative services.
