Citytv greenlights Muse Entertainment’s The Murders

The eight-episode police procedural, starring Jessica Lucas, is now in production in Vancouver.

A new crime drama is coming to Citytv.

The Murders, produced by Muse Entertainment, started production this week in Vancouver. The eight-episode, hour-long police procedural will debut on the Rogers Media-owned network in 2019.

The Murders was created by Damon Vignale (Motive), who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. It follows a rookie homicide detective who looks for redemption in her work after her negligence led to the death of a fellow officer.

The new crime series joins Canadian series Bad Blood on Citytv’s lineup. The second series of the mob dramaproduced by New Metric Media and Sphère Média Plus, premieres Oct. 11 on City.

The Murders stars Jessica Lucas (Gotham) in the lead role, alongside Lochlyn Munro (Riverdale), Dylan Bruce (Orphan Black), Terry Chen (Jessica Jones), Luvia Petersen (Ghost Wars) and Venus Terzo (Arrow).

Muse Entertainment’s Jesse Prupas and Michael Prupas will exec produce, alongside Shawn Williamson, Jamie Goehring and series star, Lucas. Arielle Boisvert produces.
