eOne sells The Rookie into 160 territories

The police drama sold to M6 (France), Sky (U.K.) and RAI (Italy) among others ahead of its Oct. 16 broadcast premiere.

eOne has sold the hour-long crime drama The Rookie (U.S.) into more than 160 territories ahead of its Oct. 16 broadcast premiere.

The show, which is executive produced by eOne’s president and CCO of film, television and digital, Mark Gordon, sold to M6 (France), Sky (U.K.), NBCUniversal International Networks (Latin America), RAI (Italy), TNT (Spain), Sony Pictures Television’s networks (Portugal, Central Europe, Russia), M-NET (Africa), Three (New Zealand) and COSMOTE TV (Greece), among others.

The Nathan Fillion-starrer, about a man who pursues his dream of joining the LAPD while in the midst of a mid-life crisis, debuts next Tuesday on ABC in the U.S. and CTV in Canada at 10 p.m. The cast also includes Melissa O’Neil (Dark Matter), Richard T. Jones (Santa Clarita Diet), Afton Williamson (Shades of Blue), Mercedes Mason (Fear the Walking Dead), Alyssa Diaz (Ray Donovan), Eric Winter (Rosewood) and Titus Makin Jr. (The Path).

The Rookie was among a raft of titles that Bell Media acquired at the L.A. screenings earlier this year. At the time the media co also picked up legal drama The Fix (produced by ABC Studios and L.A-based Mandeville TV) and medical drama The Resident (20th Century Fox Television).

Gordon executive produces The Rookie alongside Alexi Hawley (The Following), Fillion, Michelle Chapman and Jon Steinberg. eOne is handling all international distribution rights.

On the distribution front, eOne also recently acquired the international TV rights to CBC’s upcoming original drama Diggstown
